In a blink of an eye, 3 years passes before your eyes without ever really realizing it. Then the day comes when you're sitting at your last Friday night football game with all your friends. Cheering for the team that you've stood by through every game. Then just like that, everything becomes the last time. The last school lunch, the last time sitting in those desk, the last time being with all your friends at school and even your last prom. High school was a time to learn things like rules, and about how to break those rules, about others, and most importantly about ourselves. It was about experiencing new things like being apart of a team, meeting new people, falling in love, getting our hearts broken, and not having regrets.
We try to make every moment of our senior year count knowing that it will soon be over and we will be on our way to the real world. And it's scary to think that we will be out there on our own. Even though most of us won't admit it, but just the thought of it scares us. But we know that when the time comes we will be ready.
Graduation day, which once seemed so far away, but now is here. It our time to celebrate all we have accomplished, all the friends and the unforgettable memories we have made. That day when we are all sitting there in our caps and gowns. The last time we will ever be one as a class. Around the people who have watched you grow up. Some of these people we may never see again. But that is okay, because there are far better things ahead than any we leave behind. One day we will look back on old photos and smile, remembering all those good times we have had together. And it's okay to be afraid of change, afraid that this is never going to be the same because it won't. It'll never be the same and that's the exciting part is not knowing what is up ahead, the greatest part of our life is about to start. Maybe we will get everything we ever wished for, or maybe we'll more than we can ever imagine. It is the beginning of an end.
In a few days we will graduate. And we will be able to hold up our diploma and say "I made it." So congratulations to the class of 2014, WE DID IT!
